Can I save energy heating my water?

Yes, According to the U.S. Department of Energy if you have an electric water heater, you can save an additional 5%–12% of energy by installing a timer that turns it off at night when you don't use hot water and/or during your utility's peak demand times.

By programming the ShabbHOT™ Water Heater Controller correctly you could save as much as 15% or more on your water heating costs by controlling the temperature and decreasing it during the night and the hours you are not at home.

Back

Can the ShabbHOT™ Water Heater Controller increase the life span of my water heater?

Yes, according to the US Department of Energy, since you will set your desired temperature according to your needs. Furthermore, the reason water heaters tend to fail after years of usage at specific points (usually at the seams) is because of the extreme temperature differences that causes the tank to contract and expand.  This condition eventually will crack the seams. Using the pump could increase the life span of your water heater.
